REG 1:Inspirations from Reggio: Principles and Practices for Early Childhood Programs
Audience: Teachers, Associate Teachers, Administrators of preschool, prekindergarten and childcare programs
One-Day

This session provides an overview of the schools of Reggio Emilia and how the beliefs expressed through their documentation, writing and program implementation have influenced the presenter's core values. Emphasis is on the search for congruity by contrasting the beliefs about children, the culture of the families, and the resources and staffing available to programs in the Reggio schools. Participants reflect upon what might be different and what might be like their early childhood program and what changes they are inspired to make to reach greater congruity. Issues discussed are environment, interaction patterns, project work, documentation, assessment and parent involvement.
